WiFi Routers
Lately SCG has been getting a lot of questions concerning WiFi routers from Internet Providers (IPs) running poorly. Households and small businesses are seeing slowdowns when many people and devices are trying to access the internet at the same time. There also seems to be a lack of control on many of the routers when it comes to simple WiFi passcode changes or not having a WPS button for easy connection to a printer or other WPS supported devices.
From what I have seen when working with clients and talking for many hours to customer service I get the impression that IPs are trying to get customers to buy their own equipment
It appears that even with leasing the IPs equipment to its customers it is still a big loss for them. This gives the everyday consumer an advantage to not only get ride of another monthly expense but the ability to get something that works well for their internet needs.
Solution
If you are in need of a solution, please reach out to SCG.
- Review your home or office layout to determine the coverage needed.</li/>
- Examine how many and type of devices you may have to keep them running smoothly on your network.
- Discuss the speed of your IP's internet connection and make sure you are getting the proper service delivered to your home or office.
Our favorite router now is the Netgear Nighthawk RAX series. It is easy to setup, with very nice coverage, and the ability to have up to 60 devices connected at one time to the internet.
